The Shetland sheepdog should appear to be a small, very decorative sheepdog. The head
is noble and shaped like a rounded wedge, with flat skull and rounded muzzle. Slight stop.
The muzzle and head should be the same length. The ears are small, placed rather close
together and carried with tipped over tips when the dog is alert. The neck is muscular, arched
and carried proudly. The body is rectangular with a deep chest and straight back. Good boning,
with straight front legs and well angulated hind. The tail is set low and should be long The coat
should have a short, soft and thick undercoat and long, coarse and thick topcoat, longer on the
neck, backsides of the legs and tail, forming a thick ruff and well developed trousers.
The Dog in the picture is my old dog named Sonny, he was a show dog for 5 years and died 3 months ago. RIP
